Return to international travel!

My return to (work-related) international travel in the post-pandemic took place last week by occasion of the MW-Gaia Aarhus Workshop. It has been a pleasure all along to be part of the SOC of this meeting and to have had the opportunity to see so many familiar faces after such a long period of absence. A special thanks goes of course to Mikkel Lund for taking the lead on organizing the event.

Social matters aside, the workshop was scientifically enticing, as we put together a comprehensive program that was able to congregate experts on asteroseismology, Galactic archaeology, exoplanets, and Gaia data. The Gaia DR3 ended up being the highlight of the workshop, as it incidentally coincided with the first day of proceedings. In case you are interested, we gathered the presentation slides and posters from the workshop in a Zenodo community that can be accessed here.

The 2022 conference season is just starting and I look forward to meeting my international colleagues again during the TASC6/KASC13 Workshop in Leuven and later this Summer during the Sub-Saharan Africa Astronomy Summer School. All this brings back a much awaited sense of normalcy!
